RONIN INTRODUCES 7 NEW GAMES

After using an incredibly curated approach to onboarding new games for years, Ronin opens the floodgates, onboarding 7 new games at once
- Let’s talk about them and how you can get involved:
  1. Cambria: also called “Runescape on chain”, has two modes: Gold Rush and Duel Arena (like in OSRS)
    1. Recently they launched the Cambria Founders collection, and they have an Alpha scheduled for October, you can sign up for
  2. Pixel Heroes Adventure (PHA): this game also has two components: Tap Adventure (Telegram game) and the full game PHA, an idle RPG
    1. You can now join the pre-registration for the upcoming P2A campaign - find our mini-guide in the latest GC Alpha
  3. Kuroro Wilds: a retro monster-collecting ARPG, part of the Kuroro ecosystem (other games include Ranch, Beast Brawl, and Ancients)
    1. The game is not available yet but will be launching soon. They have their TGE scheduled for Q4
  4. Party Icons (PI): a party royale game, that blends multiple genres into one, with 3 available game modes
    1. The launch of the Closed Beta is coming soon
  5. XTREMEVERSE: a mobile battle royale shooter in an anime-style
    1. The game can be downloaded on IOS and has an upcoming P2A campaign
  6. Last Odyssey: a 4X game on mobile, where players “conquer to earn”
    1. They have a live SocialFi campaign, and we can expect a P2A campaign coming soon
  7. Infomon: “Pokémon Go x SocialFi”, a Twitter-based game, where you complete quests, catch Infomons, level them up, and conquer gyms
    1. They just finished their Closed Beta and will launch a new version after they complete the development

DARKBRIGHT RAISES $6M

Just yesterday Darkbright announced they raised $6M to build Smolbound in a round led by BITKRAFT, with involvement from Play Ventures, Zentry, GAM3RGIRL Ventures, and others
- Smolbound is an “ever-growing” life sim RPG with a twist (trailer), developed by Darkbright (the Treasure studio)
This article sheds more light on what’s coming, here are the highlights:
- The studio plans to create midcore game titles (so multiple)
- The game is currently in its closed beta phase and will launch on the Treasure L2 next year
- In Smolbound players can travel to different worlds, farm, explore, and collect
  - Described as “a quirky marriage between Animal Crossing and Raft”
- There will be an extensive UGC ecosystem, where players can easily create items
  - “In Smolbound, all player-created content can be NFTs”

LINE NEXT’S WEB3 MINI-GAME PLATFORM

LINE’s subsidiary, LINE NEXT is launching a Web3 mini-game platform in Q4
- The platform will be directly accessible in the LINE messaging app, very similar to how you play games on Telegram
  - Features of the platform include an integrated wallet, referral and reward system, and token and item trading
- Just like Telegram, LINE is an interesting platform from a distribution standpoint, as it has over 187M MAUs
Recently, LINE NEXT’s initiative DOSI announced the Kaia Wave builders program, handing out over $10M in grants to attract developers to the platform
- KAIA will provide developer support through SDKS to make it easy to build games on the platform
- DOSI’s most popular titles include LORDNINE and Cascade Kings, and they are onboarding a legacy IP called Rent a Hero
Overall, we’re seeing lots of similarities to Telegram, but one key difference is that LINE’s app ecosystem is more developed with more paying users
- The app is especially popular in markets like Japan, Taiwan, Thailand, and Indonesia (SA/SEA region)
