On the Gaming Chronicles account, we briefly talked about Gamecoin before. It is a simple balloon-popper experience on Telegram
However, a few days ago 0xKepler released a thread that covered Gamecoin, mentioning a few interesting things that re-sparked my interest:
The account is followed/reposted by Maple Leaf Capital, Mechanism Capital, and Zee Prime Capital, which might indicate investment from them
The game is built with Cocus, a popular engine among WeChat mini-app devs, indicating that they might be experienced in building mini-apps
To add: similar to how Catizen has leadership that previously came from WeChat, this is a strong advantage over other teams
According to their website, it seems Gamecoin will release another game tomorrow
For context, there’s a countdown timer, and when this timer ran to zero the last time, their first game Hot Air was released
Playing their games will likely get you exposure to the upcoming GAME airdrop
RAVENQUEST
RavenQuest is another game we mentioned before. After doing more research on this title, it seems worthwhile to give it a dedicated section
Firstly, they’re organizing an Early Access event that starts on the 29th of August, which comes with a 10M QUEST airdrop
You can join their Discord and create an account to register yourself
So, this game caught my attention, because it’s a Web3 fork of an already successful game called Ravendawn Online
It’s an MMORPG (similar to Tibia) that has been in development for over 7 years, which was launched in January this year, and so far accrued 220K MAUs
Because they’re already successful in Web2 it does create some questions as to why they made this Web3 fork, which makes me think the game doesn’t monetize that well
It very much seems like a bootstrapped passion project that tries to raise funds via Web3 VCs/community to make this something larger, but I might be wrong
Nevertheless, I see this as one of the better upcoming campaigns, because its gameplay already captured a larger Web2 audience. Plus these types of pixelated MMORPGs seem to resonate well with a Web3 player base
METACENE GOLD RUSH EVENT
Metacene is releasing a Gold Rush event in collaboration with Mantle. The event will have a pretty impressive prize pool, including $3M in MAK, Metacene NFTs, and 150K MNT.
The event is starting next week on Monday, and you can still pre-register on their website, so far they have ~160K sign-ups
Pre-registering guarantees you a Gift Bag that includes game items and resources
Some other things to consider for the event:
Holding MAN cards will grant you an additional 4% of the base rewards from the leaderboard, the more cards you have the higher the rewards
MAN holders get a 20% Excite Value Boost in the Origin Energy Reactor (related to P2E)
MAN holders will receive Double EXP Cards to level up and earn rewards faster
Lastly, Metacene has a passionate Chinese community
Considering the team released the tokenomics of the MAK token only 5 days ago, we can assume the TGE is getting closer and this is one of the last airdrop opportunities

THE EASIEST WAY TO DISCOVER NEW TELEGRAM GAMES
I have noticed Twitter isn’t the most efficient way to explore new mini-apps coming to Telegram…
So, today I ran into a website called TGStat that aggregates all the info about new, trending, and popular TG apps
Specifically, I recommend the “@trendingapps” channel, which you can follow on their website or add to your own TG. This app identifies trending apps and presented me with a bunch of Web3 games I wasn’t familiar with
E.g. Fintopio, Orbiton X Game, Sheep Royale 2, Hamsterdam, etc.
The website also has a ranking page where you can scroll through the most subscribed apps within cryptocurrency, making it easy to find the next farms to commit to
The TON Trading Bot account is also an option to stay up to date on the TON ecosystem
THE ETH ETF & GAMING
The ETH ETF is coming tomorrow, which means a ton of new liquidity will enter the space. In case the ETH ETF will do well, the question becomes to where ETH holders will rotate their capital into:
Politifi (political memecoins on ETH), prediction markets, L2s, and AI coins are some of the categories I see much of this volume streaming to
But I hope we can see some of it move to ETH NFTs as well as we saw with the Bitcoin ETF and the Ordinals run
Gaming is not in a position yet where I’d be confident the market will pay much attention to it, but if we were to enter/re-enter a bull run over the next couple of months, the timing would be pretty strong
Why? Many of the more promising projects are getting close to their release (e.g. Off the Grid, Forgotten Runes, Lumiterra, Treeverse, Jungle, Moonfrost, Maple Story, Immortal Rising 2, etc.)
The first time we’re seeing so many quality shots on goal for this industry, with a pretty strong macro event (the ETH ETF) gives me a positive outlook for the 2nd half of the year
ON THE RISE
Moon Tropica’s CAH token is up ~80% in the past 7 days
They are releasing a public beta soon, and the game might catch some steam, because of its crypto-inspired theme and fun PVP design
Pluto Vision, the studio behind CatizenAI announced they raised through TOP
