TRIAL EXTREME RAISED $24M

Gameplay Galaxy, the makers of Trial Xtreme announced they raised $24M to build a competitive Web3 ecosystem
- This was after the successful extension adding $11M more to its Seed round
- With such a big round, we will likely see them launch multiple games
The studio is building Trial Xtreme Freedom, an extreme (motor)sports title, based on the successful Trial Xtreme franchise, with 100s of millions of downloads
- The funds will be used to build out its “new player-centric digital ownership utilization model”
  - This includes tracking ownership in the game, allowing players to run their events and tournaments, bike ownership, and earning tokens
  - Similar to Auto Legends, the title will focus on building an economy around the game
On August 23 they announced the official soft launch of Trial Xtreme Freedom
Trial Xtreme has been around since the early days of mobile F2P and launched its first game in 2011

MAPLESTORY UNIVERSE: NXPC TOKEN

Maplestory Universe announced the Nexpace Protocol and revealed the tokenomics of NXPC in the form of a comic book
This video explains well how the economy will work, here are the highlights:
- NXPC will be MU’s utility token, allowing creators to make items
- The token will have a maximum supply of 1B
- NXPC will be rewarded to creators based on their contributions to the ecosystem
  - Creators can use the token to create items and mint them into NFTs. These items have a universal use across the different (UGC) apps and worlds in the MU ecosystem
A 2nd video goes in-depth into how creators use NXPC to make items, highlights include:
- There’s a set number for each item, which is all stored in the Universe item pool, and every so often some items flow to the Nexpace item pool
- Creators spend NXPC to make items from the Nexspace item pool and put them on their planets (UGC worlds)
- Furthermore, the video speaks about player rewards and trading:
  - In the game, players can complete quests and earn off-chain NESO and items
  - Players can trade off-chain NESO and items within the game into on chain NESO and NFT items (mint). These NFT items can be exchanged within the marketplace and using external platforms
To recap: in terms of “earning” MU’s economy will be much more creator- than player-focused. Creators build planets (like maps in Fortnite), attract players to their UGC, and likely get rewarded for their contributions (possibly measured in terms of player activity or spending)
- An experimental approach for this space, that is less about rewarding players (P2E, P2A, etc.), and more about contributing value to get rewarded in return

CATIZEN OPENED UP ITS MINIGAME CENTER

The Telegram-based merge game Catizen recently released the Open Beta for its Mini Game Center
- It’s a casual Web3 game ecosystem where players can play popular mini-games coming from Web2 - with plans to integrate up to 18 games
Catizen’s strategy here is to use their flagship title (the merge game) as a means to funnel players into this game center, where there’s more monetization potential and they can get users in for low costs
Players can participate in the mini-games to get exposure to the CATI airdrop, plus earn a 10% top-up rebate on referrals across all games
- The economic model of the game center also includes a profit share from self-developed and 3rd party titles
Originally, Catizen planned to launch its CATI token in July, however, it was delayed as the team needed more time to optimize key elements for a successful token listing
- Pluto Studio, the developers of CATI, recently also received investment from Binance Labs. This made people like Vader speculate a Binance listing is coming
