(P2A) EVENTS & SOCIALFI
TONS OF DUNGEONS
Tons of Dungeons (TOD) is a new Telegram game released last week. Hexagon Studios, the makers of Honeyland developed this game
TOD is a dungeon crawler, players reveal tiles on a 5x5 grid to reveal coins and avoid hitting bombs
After revealing the staircase the player can choose to continue clicking tiles, to get more coins (but also risk clicking the bomb), or continue to the next dungeon
Once the player goes to the next dungeon, there’s a mini-game in which they need to tap a skull as fast as possible to obtain coins
Players can also find tickets and keys in dungeons. Tickets give you spins on the Lucky Wheel with cash and items to be won. Keys, allow you to earn “passive income”
You can win a bunch of tickets by completing simple tasks (follow, RT, like, etc.)
Rewards will be boosted until the 14th of September, as part of the launch campaign (referral link)
Inside the game, players can watch Telegram games and Honeyland ads when they run out of energy
MYTHICAL GAMES
Mythical Games (MG) released its Mythical Forest campaign, where players complete tasks and collect crystals to compete over a 2M MYTH prize pool. The campaign lasts until the 13th of October
In the Forest, there are 6 different steps, in which the player completes SocialFi tasks, quizzes, or creates content (new tasks will be added every week)
The majority of the MYTH (80%) is distributed to the top 3000 players on the leaderboard, with the remaining 20% going to weekly rewards and referrals
To earn the most amount of crystals, players need to hold MYTH in the wallet they’re using (1 MYTH = 2 crystals weekly)
MG is the maker of NFL Rivals and Blankos Block Party, plus has the Pudgy Penguins mobile game coming to its chain soon for reference
JUNGLE TOURNAMENTS
Jungle released its first large Web3 activation last Friday, the For The Win Tournament Series (a little while ago they released a small SocialFi campaign)
To partake in the Tournament Finals, happening every weekend in September, you need to earn tickets by playing the game during the week
Daily leaderboards start and end at 8:00 AM (SGT timezone)
The tournament leaderboard starts at midnight UTC +0 on Saturdays and ends on Sundays at 23:59 UTC +0
Scoring will be event-based and track players’ cumulative points through ranked match score (placement + kills)
The rewards include 25 WL spots, a $10K USDC prize pool, and 30 SOL

THE $10K CHALLENGE
This week boss Raiden announced the 0 - $10K challenge. A journey that he will document in his Telegram. As someone who’s covered and played a bunch of P2A games, here’s how I would approach this challenge:
Don’t go wide, but focus on a select few games: The reward distribution for most campaigns is often heavily skewed towards the top players. Being in the top 1000 for 2 campaigns > ranking low for 10 different campaigns
Evaluate the potential reward payout: Study the token and player distribution to compare campaigns. Calculate the average payout at different token values at TGE to see if it’s worth your time
Create your own Alpha: The best strategies (Alpha) are only formed by playing the game itself. Creators (including me) can only give you so much insight on how to maximize your airdrop, especially when it comes to skill-based games
Other considerations: the team’s understanding of Web3 and willingness to embrace the culture, NFT advantages, how much they raised, their narrative, and the quality of the game (from Hunter’s post)
These are just a few basic principles when it comes to airdrop farming, which can be applied across the board, and if you’re participating in the challenge, good luck…
WEB3 GAMES AND REVENUE
There’s this meme in Web3 gaming, that no game has any customers or reoccurring revenue (so excluding one-off events like token or NFT sales)
It’s a meme, because there’s truth to it, and only a handful of games are sustainable (at the moment)
Recently Jeremy Horn made a post saying Age of Dino is making recurring revenue from FIAT payments. Furthermore, in the comments, he specifies:
“On track to outperform monthly rev by more than double some of the most well-known names in web3 gaming and “SocialFi” just in our first month even though we are in “stealth” and barely spending on UA and before starting our web3 campaign”
Additionally, in the comments other games were mentioned:
Ragnarok Landverse: According to Jarindr they are making 10M - $20M annual recurring revenue (ARR)
We also know Catizen is making a ton of money
What’s important here is to distinguish the games where the majority of players are spending on IAPs to grow their airdrop vs. players spending for entertainment. Why? Because the first scenario isn’t sustainable, the 2nd is
ON THE RISE
Kalynd is handing out this “Comprehensive Web3 Gaming Snapshot” list
Play Solana announced they’re having a mint on Magic Eden on the 16th
Note: their NFT strategy seems a bit questionable. They sold out a pre-sale with 0 info available, so think twice, before you buy
