Playgama raises $3M
🗞️ NEWS
XAI INTRODUCES TINY SENTRY KEYS
After a sequence of cryptic messages about keys and packages, XAI introduces “tiny Sentry keys” - “keys that unlock an airdrop battle pass to the XAI ecosystem”
For context: in December last year XAI held their Sentry Node Key sale, these nodes distribute token rewards. Every holder of these keys receives 99x tiny keys
According to my calculation, this airdrop will introduce around 2M keys to the supply + there will be a separate mint
The top 12+ projects within XAI will have dedicated allocations for both tiny and OG holders
I.e. XAI is introducing an ecosystem-wide battle pass, lowering the barriers of entry to earning rewards in their ecosystem + monetizing access to airdrops (i.e. “pay to airdrop”)
With such a large supply of keys, the rewards per key will be less meaningful, however, I assume there will be some type of progression system, allowing top players to aim for higher rewards
Overall, this move seems to be UA and cross-pollination play to get players into the XAI ecosystem, have them try out different games, and retain them this way

PLAYGAMA RAISES $3M
Just yesterday the game tech platform Playgama announced they raised $3M, to become the biggest distribution platform for HTML5 (e.g. Telegram) games
The round was led by The Open Platform (TOP) and A16Z
If you visit Playgama’s website you will get an idea of what kind of games they’re working with
It also mentions: “Sign up, play games, earn coins, and trade them for real-world rewards” (doesn’t look like those rewards are paid in crypto)
Furthermore, the distribution platform claims to have an audience of already 220M MAUs
Currently, HTML5 games are accessible through social media, messenger apps, and various websites (e.g. Itch.io, Crazygames, Agame, etc.)
Playgama aims to offer devs of HTML5 games access and solutions for as many platforms as possible
Through a Platform-as-a-Service ecosystem, they will provide monetization, QA, and management tools
The “Playgama Bridge” will be an open-source SDK, allowing devs to publish across multiple platforms using one integration and support various game engines
So why did TOP invest? TOP is a VC and venture builder for early-stage projects on TON, and provides distribution among other things to build and scale Web3 products
Playgama simplifies the distribution of Telegram games > More devs will publish their HTML5 games on the platform > More devs explore to potential of Web3 monetization > TOP expands its Web3 distribution network
Considering Telegram is still a platform where game X sells their audience to game Y, which sells their audience to game Z, means expanding this network can be valuable
SOVRUN LITEPAPER RELEASE
Sovrun, formerly known as BreederDAO released its litepaper two days ago…
Here's a preview of what Sovrun will look like (litepaper):
Sovrun has three layers: Genesis, Labs, and Nexus
Genesis: The Participation Layer
Aimed to create a collaborative space where players, creators, and communities can engage and influence game economies
Examples of this are the Plunder Quest mini-game on top of Pirate Nation and the development of eSports ecosystems inside EVE Frontier’s Phase 3 Hackathon
Sovrun also allocated a $17M fund to acquire assets in various projects
Labs: The Empowerment Layer
A hub to provide the tools to enable creators to design infinitely scalable worlds
They’re making an L2 that addresses the core limitations of on-chain games and Autonomous Worlds (similar to Proof of Play)
Nexus: The Engagement Layer
Focused on delivering consumer-facing experience, building user-friendly apps to onboard new users, and making decentralized gaming approachable and compelling.
Applications so far include:
GIG: A Telecom provider that gamified its app through quests and micro-tasks, allowing users to earn while they engage
Chain Tactics: A fully on chain 1V1 PvP strategy game
Creatorverse: a roguelite autonomous world, where users can import NFTs from various ecosystems
Furthermore, the litepaper dedicates a section to token utility and tokenomics
